    Hi,

     

    A new customer reached out to me because of performance problems with their wifi.

    I noticed the firmware of the InstantAP 103's were really old and I want to rule out the possibillity that the problems are caused by a bug that is fixed in newer firmwares.

     

    The firmware version is old, 6.4.0.2-4.1.0.0_44004 and we want to upgrade it to a recent firmware and I have basically two questions:

     

    1. What is the recommended target version?

    2. What is the recommended upgrade path to that version?

    For the IAP-103, you can (info here) run firmware up to Instant 4.2 with full feature support, Instant 6.5 with DPI (application recognition) disabled.

     

    Latest 4.2 version is 6.4.4.8-4.2.4.14, latest 6.5 is 6.5.4.14 at the moment.

     

    Before you upgrade you should read the release notes for the new version carefully if there are things to consider like intermediate upgrade steps. Most IAP upgrades can be done directly to the new version in one step.
