    Hi all,

In order to integrate a new 305 IAP in my IAP cluster I wanted to upgrade the existing IAP103 and 205 to the 6.5.4.3 release.

First i entered the paths to the file in the web frontend and tried to upgrade - worked fine for the AP-103 but not for the 205. The 305 was added successfully but the 205 wont show up anymore.

I sshd into the ap and tried to upgrade via cli

    "upgrade-image ftp://ip_of_my_ftp/ArubaInstant_Taurus_6.5.4.3_61959"

which is commented with "uprading swarm image - Will automatically reboot when done"

After that message nothing is happening anymore. I tried a debug-download and everything is fine - i see also the anonymous access on my ftp log when doing that debug command.

checking my ftp logs when i do the upgrade-image command shows no ftp access to my server.

can i copy the image file to the ap manually anyhow? do you have any other suggestions?

Your help would really be appreciated!

    Peter

What do you see in the IAP upgrade logs?

    show log upgrade

Are you using the firmware version specific to the IAP-205? As you can see from the below the firmware image used by the 205 is different from a 305 and also the 103.

    AP Class

    AP models

    Aries

    RAP-155 and RAP-155P

    Centaurus

    IAP-224, IAP-225, IAP-214/215, IAP-274, IAP-275 and IAP-277

    Draco

    AP-344/345 and AP-514/515

    Gemini

    AP-504/505

    Hercules

    IAP-314/315, IAP-324/325, AP-318 and AP-374/375/377/387

    Lupus

    IAP-334/335

    Scorpio

    IAP-555, IAP-535/534

    Ursa

    AP-303/303P/303H, IAP-304/305 and AP-365/367

    Vela

    AP-203H, AP-203R, IAP-203RP and IAP-207

    Pegasus

    RAP-108, RAP-109, IAP-114, IAP-115 and IAP-103

    Taurus

    IAP-204/205, IAP-205H

    Cassiopeia

    IAP-134 and IAP-135

    Orion

    IAP-104, IAP-105, IAP-175, RAP-3WN and RAP-3WNP

You can always isolate the IAP-205 its own VLAN, upgrade then re-introduce in to the cluster which is already running the firmware you require.

    Hi,

thanks for your prompt response - i attached the output of the show log upgrade command.

I use the Taurus image - should be fine afaik

Separating in an own vlan would be my last choice cause that would mean lots of work as the network is my homenetwork and is flat

Did manage to get things in order - had to disconnect all APs despite the 205, resetted to factory defaults, then managed to upgrade to latest firmware.

After that took the 205 offline and the other aps online again at last the 205 and surprise there it was

    thx for help anyway!
