    Greetings everybody!

We have setup with 4 IAP 93 running 6.1.3.1-3.0.0.2.

Is it possible to configure the IAPs so two of them use 2.4 GHz and the two other to use 5GHz?

    Thanks from a newbie

Edit: these are single radio, see below.

You cannot split the IAP- 92/93 into two bands. The preferred band for IAP 92/93 is by default 2.4GHz but it can be changed via a global setting.

    1. Log into the Web UI of the IAP

    2. Click on Settings and under the "Preferred band"  select 5GHz to make the IAP 92/93 work on 5 GHz.

    3. APs will have to be rebooted in order for the change to take effect.

    Hope this answers your question.

Thanks for your answer. I had hoped there would be some hidden CLI command that would help me out but apparently there isn't.

The odd thing is that some, not all, IAP change frequency without reboot after setting the UI, but it does't seem to be a stable workaround though.

The APs change the channel within the same band based on RF surroundings but for them to move to a different band, they will need a reboot.

I believe the OP is asking a different question that what has been answered. It sounds to me like he is asking if he can configure 2 of the IAPs for 2.4 and the other two for 5GHz. I realize these are single-radio AP's, but I don't think he is wanting to configure two bands on a single AP. Is that correct?

    Keith,

Thank you for your reply, but I believe reventlow is asking about IAP configuration.

You're absolutely right Clayman. I can sort of achive that by setting the UI to 2.4 GHz, reboot all APs, set the UI to 5GHz and then just reboot the two APs I want to use at 5GHz. Sometimes the two non-rebooted APs stay put at 2.4 - sometimes they shift to 5 GHz after anything from 30 sec to several days without rebooting. What I'm looking for is the right way to configure 2 IAP-93 to work on 2.4 and 2 IAP-93s on 5 at the same time but it doesn't seem to be possible.
