Controllerless Networks

Hi all,

 

In one of my client place, they are facing interference issue with IAP 105.

Result :- extremly slow network.

 

Please give me some suggestion on how to minimize interference.....

 

I attached two screenshot here regarding this issue.

 

 

 

You have a large number of SSIDs. Are all of these enabled on most of the APs?

Yeah all are enabled.

Is there the problem coming from ?

More SSIDs= more traffic=reduced throughput.

 

Show us the page with the AP Utilization on it.

But most of the user use that corp SSID  [Myconnect+].

 

And rest of are not so much used

Those SSIDs are still beaconing at the lowest rate, and that creates traffic utilization:

In addition, if those SSIDs share a VLAN, copies of each broadcast are sent to all of those SSIDs.

BTW they are facing sticky client issue also. [client match and clent aware both are enabled]

Another big problem that you have is that you are bonding channels on the 2.4ghz side.  That by itself will cause massive  interference.  You need to Disable Wide channel bands before your network melts:

 

 

If you are having roaming issues, you need to make sure that the ARM min is as 12 and maximum at 18 to start.  Clientmatch does not help roaming.  It tries to help after the client has already roamed, but getting the maximum and minimum power correct is crucial for roaming to work properly BEFORE clientmatch works.

By default, Wide bands are only enabled for 5ghz.  In this case you should just have it set to NONE.

i have a question about your initial post, what part of the screenshots do you believe indicate an issue? the high number of interfering APs?

ofcourse the higher number of interfering APs

but those haven't changed due to changes you made right? and now it does works better?

 

there isn't a whole lot you can do about interfering APs, they are the APs that are also in the area and if you can't convince their owners to turn them off they are there to stay.

the client only creating noise by making so many SSID, so i turned off some of them and also told them to request to there employee not to turn on there mobile/laptop hotspot.

 

the place is very congested and so many SSID are broadcasting by neighbouring client and they are the diff oraganization ,

 

i dont know how long this solution will give them support.

The foreign SSIDs that are broadcasting do not degrade the WiFi as much as everyone thinks, unless the foreign access points are between your users and your access points.

Your BIG problem was the 6 or 7 SSIDs that was being broadcast on your OWN access points and you were running 40 MHz channels in the 2.4 GHz band.

In addition, immunity should only be changed under the direction of TAC in an extreme environment.

i dont know that immunity should changed under the directon of TAC, thats why i increased it to 4.

 

I also disabled [NONE] that wide channel , and now they are broadcating 5 SSID

Interference immunity should not be changed unless there is severe non-wifi interference.  You do not have that problem.

sorry i forgot one things, once ARUBA TAC changed it to 4 and  i thought me only changed that.

 

Is there any problem if it's in 4?

 

If TAC asked you to change it, they must have seen a reason.
