    Hello,

1st post here for me, 1st hand-on Aruba implementation (Rookie)!

I'm working on a project that includes around 70 IAPs (305), and a few outdoor IAPs (375), managed by Airwave (8.2.6.1)

My 305s are running instantOS 6.5.4.7 and I have successfully added them to AMP, upgraded and configured them.

When I tried to add the 375s, I was unable to have them join the same group. Troubleshooting this, I found out that the 375s were running ArubaOS 8.3.

Naturally, I would need a separate group for this, but I don't want to do this, since my IAPs get the AMP info from DHCP options automatically.

Would I be able to upgrade my 305s from 6.5.4.7 to 8.3?

I know 8.3 needs Airwave 8.2.6.1 to manage IAPs (checkmark), so the 375s should be able to join my cluster.

Migrate the policy to the new code (I'm using IGC) and should be done!

    Am I correct?

    Thanks,
    Evan

There is 8.3.0.0 code for the IAP-305, but it does not seem to be on the limited lifetime warranty website here yet:  http://support.arubanetworks.com/LifetimeWarrantySoftware/tabid/121/DMXModule/661/EntryId/20374/Default.aspx

You should contact support and explain them your situation and they should make the Instant 8.3.0.0 code for the 305 available to you:  https://www.arubanetworks.com/support-services/contact-support/

The answer is YES, you should upgrade your instant cluster if you want to use both access points in the same cluster.

    Hi,

My company is an Aruba partner, so I think I have access to download the software for the 305s, I'll check this.

    Thanks for the confirmation!

    Hi,

I just looked at the Instant 8.3.0.0 Release Notes and the IAP 305 model is in the list of supported APs (you can check it at https://support.arubanetworks.com). So you should be able to upgrade you 305s
