Ok, our 14 APs had these IPs to start:

    192.168.1.254

    192.168.2.254

    192.168.3.254 ...etc

These were the static IPs they were assigned to on our DHCP server.  Since I need to reserve a range of 192.168.2.1 - 192.168.3.254 to put mobile devices on (then I can control their access via IP range) I am moving everything out of that range and giving all devices a static IP.  I changed the IPs on the DHCP server and changed all the APs to mirror...

    192.168.1.241 - 192.168.1.254

After the change they all disappeared from the configuration page.  Once in awhile 1-4 of them would come back but now it's been a few hours and none have come back.  I tried setting the subnet (255.255.252.0) on the VC to match the APs or leaving it blank like it was before but nothing worked.  I had once before set static ips for all the APs, giving them the same IP that they were already getting (1.254, 2.254, 3.254 etc) and nothing went wrong.  I don't understand what happened this time around.  Should I just factory reset each one?  It would be a PITA as they're up on the ceiling and I didn't install these guys so I don't know how hard it would be to configure them all over again.

What is the size of that subnet? Did you assign static IP addresses by just making reservations in dhcp or did you configure it on the IAP itself?

I did both to assign static IPs.  Configured them in the DHCP server and the APs...

All the missing APs have internet access and are serving cilents.  I can ping and telnet into all 14 of them.  They're just not showing up here...

Did you use the method here?  http://www.arubanetworks.com/techdocs/Instant_42_WebHelp/InstantWebHelp.htm?_ga=1.43038629.1615771646.1440445030#UG_files/ProvIAP/AssigninganIP.htm?Highlight=static

You would only need to do it via that method OR a DHCP reservation...not both.

Again, what is the size of your subnet mask?

In the VC, you should look Under Support and run the AP Log System command  to see if there is an issue with those APs finding the VC.  That might give you a clue.  You can run that command on those orphaned APs as well to get an idea what is going on.

I disabled the static setting in the dhcp server and rebooted it and they all came back online. That might've worked.  Thanks!
