The wireless network suddenly has no IP address

hi 

AC :8.6.05 ,standalone

AP:535

The customer loses the network after more than ten minutes of connecting to the wireless, but the wifi is not disconnected, and the network can be restored only by disconnecting and connecting again. I have no idea, I hope everyone can provide suggestions, thank you

I have the same issue at the customer at the moment.

 

- ArubaOS 8.6.0.5 (l2-cluster)

- 2x 7205

- AP-505

 

What happens if you pickup the client to another AP without any interaction? does the client roam and automatic connected again?

 

In my situation i had the same at home (VMC cluster, ArubaOS8.6.0.5, AP-505) but seems i solved this by disabling the cluster feature. I migrate my VMC's to 9004 hardware controllers and don't have any issues anymore. So it seems like my vmware does something nasty even when set all vswitch recommendations.

 

But in your case you have a stand alone-controller. At my customer i have disabling clustering last week and wait for the results now.

 

This kind of issues are hard to solve. Please open a TAC support case for this, and reference to my TAC case what seems have the same symptoms. I will send you my Case ID in a PM to you.

 

Also look for DHCP issues, enable debug logging and or do a packet-trace.

Also look for RF issues (in my case 2.4 is disabled and 5ghz@40mhz@15dBm only).

 

1. Check for DFS events (but in case of a radar even your ssid will turn fully off.

# show ap arm history {ap-name <ap-name>}|{bssid <bssid>}|{ip-addr <ip-addr>}

 

2. Check the user-table, if the user is in the user-table your 802.11 association and authentication are succeeded

# show user-table

 

3. Show info about the user connection

# show user mac ##:##:##:##:##:##

What does it tell, what AP, what radio and channel, what user-role, what SNR.

 

4. check if the client roams correctly

# show ap client trail-info

 

5. check also the errorlog

# show log errorlog

 

6. Do a packet-capture form the datapath for a client.

# packet-capture destination interface|ip|local

# packet-capture datapath mac 11:11:11:11:11:11 decrypted

Is IAP providing the DHCP service or is there a external dhcp server?

also try upgrading to firmware to 8.7.0.

is controller,external dhcp server,vlan pool,

8.7 has many bugs,

i thought you are running Instant APs as you have posted under "controllerless networks", is that not the case?

Sorry, you mentioned instant APS, I thought it was IAP, I am using controller 7210,

Are you able to run the below DHCP command to determine if any clients after the 10 minutes are still able to obtain an IP address?

 

config t
logging level debugging network process dhcpd
logging level debugging network subcat dhcp

then...

show log all | include [CLIENT MAC]

 

What is changing after the 10 minutes? Does the client keep the same role, is there any duplicate IPs on the network, what do you see on the DHCP server? 

 

If you assign a static IP to a client do they then obtain network access?

Has this been working recently or has something changed within your environment?

   Thank you very much for your reply. I will go to the customer site tomorrow to see if the problem can be found. The 2.4g radio frequency interference of the 535 is very serious and it may be a bug.
