    Hello,

First time i need to upgarde.

I have two controllers AMC 7220 active/standby (vrrp) central licesence, the controllers version is 6.5.0.3

Recently we bought AP 300 and the minimum opertaion system is 6.5.1.0

From Aruba i saw they recommend on version 6.5.1.4

My qestion is can i upagrde first the standby controller and after the upgrade force him to be active check how he function and after that upgrade the second ?

    I found this upgrade procedure,

    http://www.arubanetworks.com/techdocs/ArubaOS/6.5.x.x/Content/ReleaseNotes/Upgrade/Upgrading_to_6.5.x.htm

Is this the correct way to upgrade ?

    Regards

    Rafi

You should reboot both at the same time AFAIK.  That would avoid an upgrade/downgrade loop depending on what APs the controllers see and what controller has control of the VRRP.

    Hi,

I work with active/standby so only one controller is working, i must upgrade both controllers at same time ?

The upgrade process i sent is correct (from step 1 till 12 ) ?

Only one controller is working until it releases control of the VRRP.  If you upgrade only one, it will reboot and become a slave of the controller that is already up.  The APs will still be on the old code.  If you reboot the second controller the APS will swing over to the upgraded controller and have to reboot because their code does not match the code of the first controller rebooted.  You should reboot both at the same time after you verify that configuration sync is working properly.
