    You would need some type of policy engine like ClearPass.

    I have tried it role based as per some instructions i have got to block android and iphone devices, but it does not seem to work

    I tried to add a string in roles assignment rules which I have gotten for mobile devices, I am attaching an image

    That method will not scale well and won't be as accurate. You won't catch everything. You need a policy engine that can do profiling.
