    Posted Mar 11, 2015 11:22 PM

    Hi expert,

Currently ,two iap (i274,i134) have joined the VC and configure static ap ip address . Allow automatic join is enable. new iap i92 has same version as other two iap ,when the iap92 tried to join vc ,some error message shows up :

Rebooting AP due to default-ip is denied in this network (ac:a3:1e:c0:38:ec 10.75.156.83)

and 10.75.156.83 is ap address which selected as VC .

Should I must confiugre static ip for iap92 before it could join vc?

    Hi Wang,

let me understand couple of things here.

    1. Do you have DHCP in the subnet to provide IP address to IAPs ?

    2. Have factory reset the IAP 92 .

Please share the outut of "show log system" it wil give some more idea.

Feel free for any further help on this.

    Hi Wang,

To form a cluster the following point need to be ful filled,

    1. All IAPs should be in the same VLAN and should have IP address( DHCP or Static) from the same subnet

    2. All IAPs should have same Image version.

In your case, are you satisfying above points ?

As a work around, console the IAP 92 and observer the boot messages and confirm whether is able to get a valid IP and also receiving a Master beacon.

Please feel free for any further help on this

Yes ,I think I got the reason. When I initial one iap and add to vlan ,it only could get ip address from 169 subnet which is diffirence from other ap.

    Hi Wang,

I believe in your setup either there is no DHCP available or IAP not able to get IP , coz as you said, new IAP is getting IP from 169.254.X.X which is APIPA ( Default IP) IAP will not join with default IP hence you configure a static IP or configure a DHCP so that new IAP gets a valid IP ( same subnet as the VC) and join the cluster.

    Hope your issue is resolved,

Please feel free to seek any further help on Aruba.
