    Hi guys,

    I have aruba rap-3WN which right now an instant ap, I am trying to convert it to rap, when I start the process from the UI of the iap, it takes time trying to establish a vpn connection to the controller and then fails with error log attached to this message.

    I would like to mention as well that I am trying to do this via internet.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    The log messages point to : ERR_IKE_XAUTH_FAILED

    Have you added the RAP MAC address to whitelist DB on the controller?

    I believe to convert a RAP-3 to a RAP requires 6.1.4 code (limited release) or 6.2; neither publically available yet.    Are you running the limited release 6.1.4?

    How do I check this, and If I need it, how do I get it/install it?

    @clembo:
    Thanks ! I missed that.

    @meedo
    You should contact your local SE and he/she would be able to provide you with that code version.

    Thanks, I received this IAP from aruba as I attended one of their events.

    Yes, got one too, nice gift!   Thanks Aruba ;-)

    Anyways, the code we are referring to is on the controller, not the IAP side of things.  So, depending on the controller version of code, you may  not be able to convert it to a RAP  yet.   Unless you've gotten the code directly from Aruba SEs, you likely will not be able to use it as a RAP yet.   But it is still a useful IAP.

    on the controller you can view the OS Version in the GUI or CLI:   show image version

    you'd have to talk to your local teams/SEs about 6.1.4.
