Controller License from 6.5 to 8

    Hi,

     

    I am working to upgrade my 7220 controller from OS 6.5.4 to OS 8.5, is it possible to use the same current controller license or it required a new license purchase?

    Hi Hyaqoob,

     

    You have to get your licenses migrated to 8.x platform as because the License architecture has been changed from 6.x to 8.x.

     

    Please contact TAC for below options:

     

    • If you are going for Mobility Master (Virtual Appliance) and Managed Device(MD) topology, Please run the command #show license passphrase and provide it to TAC to migrate the licenses.
    • If you are going for Standalone Controller topology then it is simple License migration from 6.x to 8.x using Serial Number of the device.
