We are consolidating some of our routing sites and will be merging 2 AP management networks together and will have close to 900 APs in this new network.     I know the recommended practice is to have the APs on the same networks as the users for verifying rogues on your own network and such but we cannot do that with all of the access points.   I suspect there is not much broadcast or other traffic within the network just APs tunneling to the controllers.     Does anyone have any AP management networks of this size or stories of why should possibly look to break it up?

    thanks

    Chris,

We have a hair over 650 and haven't seen any detrimental effects so far.  We will be expanding this later this summer with no plans of opening up a new network yet.

We have dedicated AP networks sized as /23s and /22s. We haven't had issues with this.

We have dedicated private /24s for APs on every edge stack.

    Same with phones.
