We have Food truck that drives around our campus and we are looking for solutions to extend our network onto the food truck. we are looking to use a Verizon Mi-Fi and connect a RAP to it But i haven’t seen any examples of that. does anyone have and suggestions.

    Thanks,
    Mike

You can use a RAP/Instant with a USB LTE card.

    Thanks,

    HI ,

This type of deployment is possible and quite simple. all Aruba RAPs (RAP 3, 155 etc..) supports 3G uplink and you can terminate RAP on your corporate controller over the public network so that the corporate WiFi is available inside and around the truck.

Please feel free if you need any help on this deployment.

Thanks for your help. We used a RAP-155 with a Verizon 4G LTE card. created a Profile in the controller that had no SSID's so it wouldn’t broadcast wireless signal and put a profile on 2 ethernet ports for the macros and credit card machine VLANs. disabled the other ports.
