Have not been able to get a definite answer on this...does a Meridian solution require Aruba (or any other type of) access points in order to work? Can a Meridian solution work (with all capabilities) with no wifi available as long as the phones are connected to LTE? If not, what is unable to function without a wifi connection?

From what I have gathered, it appears that a wifi network is only required to enable beacon management from the Meridian editor. Is that correct?

For wayfinding, there is as you suggest no dependency on Aruba WLAN or even WLAN in general. There needs to be internet connectivity from the device which even can be 3G/4G cellular.

Aruba WLAN infrastructure with APs that have built-in beacons:

1) allow you to use those beacons similar to battery (or USB) beacons

2) can be used for (battery) beacon management, and,

3) are a prerequisite for the Meridian Asset Tracking solution.

Beacon deployment and management can be done with the Aruba Beacons App (Apple IOS App), though that may need someone to go near the beacons periodically to get up-to-date information. Integrated beacon management in the AP infrastructure provides permanent management and monitoring of your beacons.

From your information, it looks you are good to go.

Thanks! So would it be fair to say that all other features besides Asset Tracking (points of interest, campaigns, push notifications, etc.) are available without Wifi as well, assuming there is a cell connection?
