Changing grid cell size of floor plans on VRF

Jul 17, 2014 10:51 AM

Introduction: While adding floor plans on VisualRF the grid cell size can be configured when the floor plan is being profiled.
However once the floor plan is uploaded one needs to know how to change the grid cell size if needed.
There are two ways to more easily identify which floor plans still have a grid size that is too small. The second is a little more complicated.

Answer  :

Method 1:
- Navigate to the building icon that shows the individual floors
- Right-click on a floor
- Select Edit
- Enter something in the Name field to identify the floor
- Repeat for all floors
- Load the gridsize XML
  - in URL after AMP name add the following: /visualrf/site_gridsize.xml
  - Example: https://your.amp.com/visualrf/site_gridsize.xml
- Look for sites where current-gridsize = 0.61 or where suggest-gridsize is a lot larger than current-gridsize
- Repeat steps to get to Edit menu and change Grid Cell size (to something like 7 x 7)

Method 2:
- Load the gridsize XML
  - in URL after AMP name add the following: /visualrf/site_gridsize.xml
  - Example: https://your.amp.com/visualrf/site_gridsize.xml
- Look for sites where current-gridsize = 0.61 or where suggest-gridsize is a lot larger than current-gridsize
- Copy the site id (long alphanumeric string)
  - Example: <site id="b9e7e5fc-60aa-4b41-bda5-d52d3728811a"…
- In another browser window/tab load site XML for that site
  - in URL after AMP name add the following: /visualrf/site.xml?[SITE_ID]
  - Example: https://your.amp.com/visualrf/site.xml?b9e7e5fc-60aa-4b41-bda5-d52d3728811a
- Look for height and width (this will help you determine which site it is)
- Navigate to the building icon that shows the individual floors and right-click on the desired floor
- Select Edit and change the Grid Cell size (to something like 7x7)
