Requirement:

Airwave managing Aruba HPE switches

How to push partial configuration on the HPE Aruba Switch from Airwave. Instead of the full config option, under group basic page, which will cause the device to reboot.

Solution:

In the Switch's group basic page, on Airwave. We will need to set the "Push full template configuration and reboot the switch" option to No, from the below screen shot location:

once we set this option as No. We can push partial configuration changes to the switch, instead of the full template and reboot, from the Group --> Templates page of the device.

Configuration:

For Example, We could see the Group template page below, in this, we will need to select Partial Config tab:

When we click on the partial config, tab, we see a plus sign to add the configuration change, which we want to push and select the device, as shown below:

In this Example, i want to change or add the snmp-server location to lab123, so i will do the following, after hitting the "+" sign from the above screen shot as shown below:

once done, we can click Next to select the device, on which we need to push this configuration,  we could either schedule the push for later time or now and confirm the change.

Verification

We can see the telnet/SSH Command log from the Audit page of the device, to verify the configuration push, we will see the below lines, once the push is done:
