VisualRF database migration in 7.0

Jun 17, 2014 12:03 PM

In recent versions of AMP some customers have experienced corruption of VisualRF's Derby database. To address this situation in 7.0 and beyond VisualRF data is being migrated to AMP's main postgres database. While this will help ensure the integrity of VisualRF's data going forward the upgrade and data migration will not work if there is a problem with the Derby database in pre-7.0 deployments. It is important NOT to initiate the 7.0 upgrade if VisualRF is not in a good state.

Pre-Upgrade: Please check the status of your AMP's VisualRF. Take note of how many floor plans, and how many APs per floor plan you have. If you are unable to view your floor plans please send /var/log/visualrf.log to support@airwave.com. It is important NOT to initiate the 7.0 upgrade if VisualRF is not in a good state.

Post-Upgrade: Please check the status of your AMP's VisualRF once more. You may need to allow for 10-15 minutes after upgrade for the VRF process to start up after upgrading. If you find that the VisualRF process does not come up please send /var/log/visualrf.log to support@airwave.com. If you can view your floor plans and APs then the migration was successful and your upgrade to 7.0 is complete.
