Why do we need the L2TP pool to be routable for the VIA clients to successfully connect and function normally?
Environment : This article applies to OS version 5.0 and 6.0 as well as all the VIA versions.
It is essential that the addresses used in the VPN address pool for VIA are routable from the internal corporate network. If not, the VIA clients would connect to the server, however, would not be able to connect to the corporate resources and vice-versa. Alternatively, we can implement Network Address Translation (NAT) on the VLAN used for the VPN address pool. However, it is important to note that NAT might cause issues with certain applications such as file transfer protocol (FTP).
