AirWave client bandwidth is different on Controller

Hi All,

On AirWave Home -> Overview -> Usage tab shows the clients bandwidth, but it shows different values than controller. For example, the AirWave shows the max bandwith 47 Mbps at 11:00, and the same time, the controller shows 210 Mbps on Dashboard -> Usage -> Overall Usage tab, but on the Usage by WLAN tab shows about the same as AirWave value, and if we see in the switch's uplink, the bandwidth is the same as on Controller Overall Usage tab.

What is the difference between the Controller Overall Usage and the Usage by WLAN and the AirWave Usage tab?

Thank you,

David

Re: AirWave client bandwidth is different on Controller

Hi David,

These are the definitions according to the documentation:

Controller

+ Overall Usage: The total number of clients and APs that have the low usage and throughput data in the
last 15 minutes.

+ Usage by WLANs: The total number of clients per WLAN and throughput data in the last 15 minutes. You
can view only three WLANs in a graph and the remaining WLANs are displayed in other graph.

Airwave

+Usage: The combined bandwidth through the device at time of polling.

What versions are you running on your Controllers/Airwave ?

I would suggest you kee it up to date. Updating AMP to 8.2.7 resolved some client data differences between WLC and AMP for us.

Hi,

Thank you for your answer. We are running the latest (8.2.7) AirWave and ArubaOS 8.3.0.1 controller version.
