Correct, AirWave has no current way to discover IAPs. AirWave only communicates with the IAP that's acting as VC. The VC will send updates to AirWave over encrypted https packets. There's no SNMP communication at all with IAPs.
Are you doing rogue containment from AirWave? If not, then make sure RAPIDS -> Setup -> Containment Options -> Manage rogue AP containment = No. If you are trying to, make sure that your devices know what to do for containment, and make sure that they are in the right management / monitor state to be contained (see "Manage rogue AP containment in monitor-only mode" on the same setting box, and then compare to the controller or VC's manage/monitor state).
You should be seeing client count and usage data. If not, then it may be worth opening as a support case to get support's assistance in debugging why the data is not showing. When you say the IAPs are used as a bridge, where are the user connections terminating at?
