    Dear All,

I have an issue with the email notifications received from the AirWave server.

I have configured Airwave to send emails when a device goes down/up. I have added mail ids of 3 different domains.

    For eg: dessai@meritushotels.com, parthvi@gmail.com, parthvi@omnicomm.com.sg

We are using the mail server IP for the relay agent (the @meritushotels email server)

With this I am able to receive mails on the @meritushotels.com email ids. However the emails are not received on gmail, or @omnicomm email Ids.

Please help me in solving this issue.

Is it because of the mail server has Issue? Or do I need to configure on the AirWave.

If you are successfully receiving mail to some addresses, it is likely something on the email end. Are the addresses properly separated in the to box?

    Thanks,
    Tim

Yes, Emails are spaced properly. I am sure about this because i tried adding many email ids.

If the email id is @meritushotels one... it works. If any other email id, it doesnt. :(

What is the sender address you configured?  Some relays are configured not to send if the sender is not from the same domain.  Make sure your sender address is an @meritushotels one.

This is the email id: airmanager@meritushotels.com, configured as the sender email id.

But its a random one that I selected, not configured on the mail server as an user id.

    Could that be the reason?

You need to check the logs on the mail server to see why it is not being forwarded to those external domains.

Since emails to your internal domain work, that eliminates the AirWave server from being the issue.  You can also confirm that the AirWave server is not the issue by checking /var/log/maillog.  Since this seems to be a mail path issue, try checking with your mail admins to see if there's any grey listing software or spam filters between the mail server and external domains (such software often times doesn't allow mail out unless it's on an approved domain list).  Additionally, you may need to get the mail admins to create the account in case the block any non-real users from spamming outside the network.

From your output, it leads me to think that something in the mail relay isn't working for the external domains.  What happens if you add those domains as relayhosts in /etc/postfix/main.cf?
