    Posted Aug 19, 2020 05:26 AM

    Hi dudes!!

I need to upgrade an existing Airwave running 8.2.8.1 to 8.2.10.1, after recovering the ampadmin I tryed to upgrade through WinSCP (check several youtube videos and older posts here) but it does not connect.

Then I generate the user awsftp (as I found in other post here) and I was able to open WinSCP but when I drop the file into "User" folder Airwave tells I have no permission

After I tryed to download the file letting it have access to Internet but neither the customer nor my credentials (partner) works for ASP nor MyNetworking

2 days ago I opened a case to the TAC but surprisingly I have had no contact yet. Any advice?

Thank you very much in advanced!!

Do you have TAC case number, could you share with us. We will be able to upload upgrade package using temporary  awsftp User using Winscp.

If your support credentials migrated to ASP site, then it will not work for online upgrade, 8.2.8.1 code still not integrated to ASP site, so you have to manually download package and upload to server to upgrade.

ASP site integrated in 8.2.11.1 code. Below is the file permission of upgrade file which I am uploaded to server using winscp. Right click on file and select properties > security to veiw file permission. Using edit option we can change file permissions as well.

    Hi Pavan,

I think you helped me out long time ago as well

I right clicked the file and I can see same permissions as you posted but same error, no permision either sftping on Windows CMD nor WinSCP.

    TIcket is HPE 5349473395

I am checking case status, will update. Try download upgrade package again and check the status, normally awsftp credentials should work to upload files to /user directory.

The "awsftp" account methode don't work very well in some Airwave version. Best experience i have with a remote SCP server.

    See my early topic:

If you need a free SCP server in 3 minutes, check my blog:

    Hope this helps you!

    Hi guys,

I have installed Turnkey linux (same VLAN than Airwave) and using commands I launched sftp to Airwave, tryed to put the file but it did not work. Then I modified the permissions of the file and tryed to put the file and same result

I have not found yet how to use SCP from Turnkey but I am working on it. Anyway, all the problems are about permission, always denied.

    sftp> ls -la
    drwxr-sr-x 3 0 0 4096 Aug 14 10:14 .
    drwxr-sr-x 3 0 0 4096 Aug 14 10:14 ..
    -rw-r--r-- 1 0 0 0 Aug 14 10:37 file_transfer_from_the_user_directory
    drwxr-xr-x 2 0 487 4096 Aug 20 10:10 user

    sftp> put AMP-8.2.10.1-x86_64-cvs.tar.gz
    Uploading AMP-8.2.10.1-x86_64-cvs.tar.gz to /user/AMP-8.2.10.1-x86_64-cvs.tar.gz
    remote open("/user/AMP-8.2.10.1-x86_64-cvs.tar.gz"): Permission denied

I run a "get" command from Airwave to send a file to my server and works fine, so I suppose the problem is the permissions of \user folder in Airwave but I do not know how to change them...

We can try removing the awsftp user from ampcli and add it again, this should mostly work as it recreates the permission for the user.

    Hi guys,

I just finished the meeting with TAC and I figure out I am a bit badass hahahah

I was trying every time to put the file from the linux server when in fact you have to request it from Airwave:

    Let me show:
