We just upgraded our AirWave server to 8.2.10.0 last week. Since then, I'm able to access the web UI normally but unable to connect to the CLI over SSH. Is there a setting in the web interface where that can be configured? The server is a VM, so I'm also wondering if the setting is in the VSphere console. 

Appreciate any thoughts on this.

As a clarification, this is not a login failure - it's the server refusing the SSH connection request.

You can also try ssh from a different box to Airwave to see the error. If not opening a TAC case will be good so that TAC can check from the console.]

Hi Vishnu,

Right after the upgrade, trying to ssh into the sever and immediately kicks you out with the error:

"server unexpectedly closed network connection"

You try to restart session and the error pops up again

serial console is OK and can log in but not via ssh anymore

Any ideas?

Couple of things,

* Can we take the console access and see if the disk is at 100%?

* Was the update successful?

* If above both are fine, we could try rebooting the server once

Still no difference i would suggest opening a TAC case

I checked under system --> performance and disk space was ok

The upgrade finished ok

I also did a graceful shutdown and restart but still getting same error when trying to ssh

I will open a TAC case when I have time

Are you trying to SSH using root or ampadmin credentials?  If it is root try login with ampadmin , if issue still persist then we need to get in rescue mode and reset ampadmin password, it looks account is not active.

As my previous reply states, the serial console is working and I can log in however the SSH gets refused so therefore not even a login prompt will come up because the you get "the server unexpectedly closed the network connection" so you never even get a login prompt to use ampadmin. Serial console works with ampadmin but SSH gets refused and no login prompt anymore after the upgrade

 If you are able to console and able to login using 'ampadmin' credentials,  try set SSHD to use compatible ciphers and check SSH login , go to AMPCLI>Configuration>SSHD>Use Compatible Ciphers.

Good to hear that issue got fixed, accept as solution so that it will be helpful for others. 

The same issue caused daily controller backup to fail on the Airwave for me after upgrading tot he 8.2.10.0 code.

Strangely the ssh worked , however only SCP transfer was failing for my case and it got fixed after enabling compatible cipher.
