Re: Upgrading Airwave to 8.2.7

Unfortunately, there's a known defect that the upload broke due to folder permission changes.  DE31898 is the defect tracking number.  It's expected to get fixed for 8.2.8.  In the meantime, you can either go the Bitvise SSHD or SolarWinds SSHD server route using the 'upload' option.  Or you can open a support case - and they can just login to the support shell to run old school SCP cmd to transfer from another server.

Re: Upgrading Airwave to 8.2.7

im having the same issue as OP using airwave 8.2.5.1 with solarwinds SCP server as well. am unable to install bitviseSSH or get TAC to remote in as this is a classified environment with no internet connection.

SCP Source (user@host:path): username@X.X.X.X:AMP-8.2.7-x86_64-cvs.tar.gz
Password:
Uploading username@X.X.X.X:AMP-8.2.7-x86_64-cvs.tar.gz
scp: Failed to open file 'AMP-8.2.7-x86_64-cvs.tar.gz'.
Error transferring file from X.X.X.X: scp failed: child exited with code 1

am thinking it is the path portion that is having issues when sent from airwave to the solarwinds SCP server.

any ideas how to properly send the path?

Re: Upgrading Airwave to 8.2.7

As stupid as it is, but I always use an Ubuntu virtual machine on my Windows book to SCP into the Ubuntu workstation from AMP. This works for me without any problems (till now and hopefully in the future)....

Re: Upgrading Airwave to 8.2.7

There was a cipher issue with Solarwinds that was resolved in 8.2.6.1 -> since you're coming from 8.2.5, the fix isn't in the version you have.

If BitVise isn't working for you, native MacBook terminal or a jumper system that has the right ciphers is the alternative as Rene mentioned.

When accessing via sftp as "File Transfer User", you may need to change directory to "user" which you see in the default directory before uploading files.

Re: Upgrading Airwave to 8.2.7

hello,

is there any documentation for performing upgrades. our current Airwave server is on 8.2.7.1 CentOS6 but we have had an email to say that this is now going out of support by the end of december 2019.

Aruba recommends all customers running AirWave 8.2.9.x and lower versions to upgrade to AirWave version 8.2.10.0 or 8.2.10.1 (or higher) on CentOS 7.

Re: Upgrading Airwave to 8.2.7

Release Notes posted on our support site have the details for the upgrade process.

https://support.arubanetworks.com/Documentation/tabid/77/DMXModule/512/Command/Core_Download/Default.aspx?EntryId=36484

In short, from 8.2.7, its a two step upgrade and migration to 8.2.10

- upgrade from 8.2.7 to 8.2.9 on CentOS6

-upgrade from 8.2.9 to 8.2.10 on CentOS6

-Take a backup from 8.2.10 version

- Fresh install 8.2.10 with CentOS7

- Restore the backup taken on 8.2.10.
