VisualRF Crashes since Airwave 8.0.6.1 Update

    Ever since upgrading to Airwave 8.0.6.1, I've been getting the following error when attempting to get into VisualRF:

    The text reads as follows for searchability: "VisualRF communication timed out. The service may be unavailable. Please try again in a few minutes. If the problem persists, contact your system administrator.

     

    The only way to fix it is to do a "Reboot System." After a few hours, it gets back in those mode.

     

    I have a TAC case open, but still no word on what might be causing it.

     

    Anyone else seen this/have suggestions?

    Hi Aaron,

     

    I've experienced the same error message. It's the first time I've seen the message. I didn't receive error message with previous Airwave release.

    i 've experienced the same issue upgrading to 8.0.4.1. after a few time investigating without finding any solution , i've re-applyed the same upgrade syncronising whith the lastest database and all is functionning righ now ...

    I opened a case with Aruba TAC. They are troubleshooting the issue now.

     

    I noticed that there is a new Airwave OS now available this morning on the Aruba Support Site.

     

    New Version is  8.0.6.3.

     

    I will try the latest release and see if that resolves issue.

    After upgrading to 8.0.6.3 and rebooting the appliance, I successfully logged into VisualRF.

     

    I did receive a message during initial login about the services starting. After about 60 seconds, the message disappeared and I able to access VisualRF.

     

    Will monitor and see if original message reappears.

    Aruba TAC allocated a bit more RAM to the box (bumped it to 768) and it seems to be working better. I'm about to do the upgrade to 8.0.6.2 and see how that goes as well.

    Good to know. I checked the RAM allocation on my airwave appliance.

     

    I have the following:

     

    Installed Physical RAM: 11.62 GB
    Configured Swap Space: 4.00 GB

    I should have been more specific as well. The RAM increase was for the allocation that VisualRF uses inside of Airwave. It is under VisualRF -> Setup.

    Running 8.0.6.3 and having the same problem. I'll look at the ram once I reboot.

    Same problem here on a appliance running 8.0.6.3.

    150'ish devices, 8Gig RAM.

     

    Tried to change VisualRF memory from 512 to 768, but was unable to do it due to VisualRF timeout. I'll try it after a reboot. 

     

    Any other have success solving this issue?

     

    I see that 8.0.7 is out - anyone know if this solves the problem?

    Hi All,

     

    We have seen an issue with 8.0.6.1 and fixed couple of perfromance issues in our latest releases. I recommend to upgrade to 8.0.7 where the fixes for visualRF perfromance are present. The timeout issue largely depends on the specs allocated to VisualRF under VisualRF > Setup page, number of clients, number of AP's on the floor plans, Gridsize of floor plans, number of Rogues on the floor plans. If after upgrading to 8.0.7, the issue is still seen, I would suggest to open a TAC case or send me an email (gamujuri@arubanetworks.com), we can setup a web meeting and take a look on the server.
