A question I have is if you the hostname on the primary source server is there any need of backup servers? Is there still an advantage of backup servers?

    Thanx - Cire

If there is a chance of that server going down, it would be good to have a backup.  That parameter actually decides what server is used to look up the user to be authenticated via LDAP, which is separate from the server it uses for actual 802.1x authentication (it uses NTLM).

Sorry. Some how I left out part of my question.  I should have said if you use the Domain name in the hostname of the Primary server....
