Random request to which I suspectthe answer is no but I said I'd ask.

 

Is there any way to determine when an AP first "appears" on a WLC?

There might be a record of the access point connecting to the controller if you are sending your syslog to an external logging server. The system log would have a record of it. Besides that, the controller does not maintain a record of when an access point first joined.

I suspected as much.

 

Will have to check about the syslog but considering the person that set it up just left us in the lurch without a proper transition, then I suspect that is not an option.

Is there anything else that you need for your transition?  Hopefully the system is just working and you only need to do some maintenence.

Now there's a leading question :)

 

We need training on how to use, interrogate, etc ths system for day to day support purposes. At present we are learning 'as we go' which isn't always a bad thing. In this case, I think we need more of an in-depth understandign but trying to persuade management to spend on training is never easy.

What version of ArubaOS is this?

The WLC is running 6.5.0.3
