I'd like to integrate admin access to clearpass with an existing auth system i have in place today.  Basically we reasonable turnover in our help desk, and a lot of automation around our existing system.  I'd prefer not to have my admin users be local users to clearpass, but instead be able to auth out to my existing system.  It supports either radius or TACACS+.

I believe you need to use ClearPass itself for management access into it. I don't think you can set an external server.

Tim. wouldn't he be best to use AD to back off the administration roles?

appreciate that's not using your old system but better than cppm local users

Yes, you can use AD as an authentication source for ClearPass admin access. It sounded like you wanted to use an external RADIUS server for admin access to ClearPass which is not possible.
