Backup of insight db via scp

 CPPM 6.8

In the Admin seciton of the insight GUI you can set up a host and credentials to do an scp transfer to a remote host ... ansd theres a test button to check it works

Great!

So whats it use for ..? reports ?  would like to scp an insight backyp to a remote host. Can it beusee for that ?

When manually doing a backup from policy manager you can specify  insight included in the backup .. but it seems the only way to then get the file os via a web interface and the log directory in the GUI. .... when the file is 8 G and youre at home on a 46M broadband connection and ypouv no access to a host  on the campus net ... its not a lot of use ...

So is there a way to scp the file to a remote host?

Had a look in the CLI and doesn't seem to be anything there either.

Re: Backup of insight db via scp

Hi,

The File Transfer Settings under the Insight UI >> Administration is for uploading the insight reports. Insight Backup cannot be uploaded to a File backup servers.

FYI - The auto-backup from the Policy Manger can be uploaded to a File Backup Server, but the auto-backup doesn't include the Insight database dump.

Thanks,
