We are attempting to set up a new wireless network with an Airwave 630 Server, Clearpass 500, and two Controllers, one a hot spare.  This will replace our current Cisco wireless network, that is still operational.

We want to use a commercial SSL cert to alleviate browser warnings on connection to the Captive Portal.  Newer OS's and modified group policy are not allowing users to proceed with connection if there is not a valid certificate available.

We are trying to use a UCC certificate from GoDaddy with five SANs.   The CSR has been created for the basic basic domain and SANs listed for CPPM, airwave server and  two controllers as individual sub-domains.  This will make maintenance of the cert simpler rather than having separate certificates for each device.

Is this an acceptable solution?  Or do we have to get a separate cert for each appliance/device?  We have been unable to get all appliances to work correctly.

I have gone through the Airhead Community and other Aruba reference materials and read way too many posts, many of which are instructional and helpful, but no where was I able to get a definitive answer about a UCC.

We've been trying to get this system configured for over two months and it is now on life support before starting all over.

Thanks for any help/advice you can offer.

If your security policy allows it, sure.

Recommendation from Aruba that ultimately worked was to acquire separate certs for each device.
