    Hi,

I want to migrate an evaluation CPPM VM to production VM.
    Then, I have questions.

    (1) An evaluation license is unavailable on production VM CP-XK.
And, we need to install a permanent license after "morph-vm" command completed.
    Is this correct ?

    (2) Through the migration, does the configuration remain ?
Do I need to do configuration backup&restore ?

    Thanks.

    1) Yes

    2) Configuration will remain. I always take a backup just in case.

One major thing to check is that your VM is to spec for a production 5K VM. If it's not, you'll need to rebuild the VM and import the configuration. You cannot resize ClearPass virtual disks.

    CP-VA-5K
    l 8 Virtual CPUs
    l 1000 GB disk space
    l 8 GB RAM
l 2 Gigabit virtual switched ports
    l Functional IOP rating for a 40-60 read/write profile for 4k random read/write = 105

What if the VM is installed as a VA-5K and licensed with an eval license?  When the legit license is available, is there a way to switch?  Does morph-vm work still?

You should build a production VA-5K, join it to the 500 cluster and then
    promote it to publisher.

    That makes sense, thanks!

actually it doesn't make sense to me.

i deploy a CP-5K with the advised specs and put a trial license on it. the customer decides to buy the product and gets a 5K license, why can't i then not keep using the CP-5K with the 5K license?
