    Hello,

     

    I'm setting up a guest wifi, and would like to achieve the following:

    (1) When guest logs on to SSID, he is prompted for a password (first level authentication)

    (2) After the guest passes first level authentication, would then like to redirect the guest to an external captive portal for a second level of authentication. Purpose for this is to capture more details about the guest (e.g. social media platform)

     

    Could you please how this may be achieved? Got a little confused reading the user guide - couldn't get a definitive answer as to whether this is possible or not. Thanks.

    Hello,

     

    To add on to the context of the question. These are being used:

    - IAPs (135, 215)

    - Aruba Central to configure and manage the devices

     

    Reason for requiring the first level of authentication is so that the guest wifi is only to be used by guests that are provided with this password.

    You would need ClearPass or some third party captive portal product to do what you want to accomplish.

    Thanks for your reply. However, what I'm looking to do is to perform the first level of authentication at the AP (using WPA/WPA-2) before passing it to the external captive portal, which I am already using.

    Would like to know how this can be configured/setup in the Aruba Central.

    1. Set the splash page to be external
    2. Create a captive portal profile which points to your external captive portal (ClearPass etc)
    3. Configure encryption (Pre-Shared Key)
    4. Set up your authentication server (ClearPass etc)

    Like the other guys were saying you'll need an external captive portal such as ClearPass to get this working.
