Anyone Successfully Load Balance the Guest Login Pages?  anyway to achieve this using DNS Records? or load balancer?

I understand that Guest account creation is not available if publisher is down but normally users who are logging in already have an account.

The registration page can only be used from the publisher. There is no way
to load balance this. Did you setup a VIP?

    No I didn't  because of Layer3 Segregation.

anyone know of any alerting (free/low cost) tools to ensure that Clearpass webserver remains up and is responding to http requests?

You can use a load balance to make the URL always available but just keep in mind that only the active publisher can create/modify accounts. You should use the load balanced with auto publisher promotion.

PRTG has a free version of their NMS which includes a web server check sensor.

    Thanks,

The Guest Portal can be hosted on a Subscriber... the account creation howver MUST happen on the PUB.

All of this is covered in a alot of depth in two of my TechNotes.

Cluster TechNote and my Load-Balancing TechNote.
