We are using Apple tv's for aiplay but when airgroup is enabled only a random assortment of ATV from different AP groups at different sites are visible. Has anyone seen this problem before? It is only broken down to ap group at the moment but getting toward ap specific when we get this ironed out.

Clearpass ver is 6.2.1.5  Any help is much apprieciated.

    1. What version of AOS are you running and integrated or overlay design?

    2. Are you doing Location restrictions?

From the symptom, it sounds like you are hitting the max 64 mDNS devices that an iOS device can display. That doesn't just mean AppleTVs. If there are other mDNS servers (printers, iTunes, etc) that are being allowed, then the iOS device will only display a random assortment of AppleTVs.

Also, make sure you have enabled the CPPM Registration Required option on the controller. This will block non-registered mDNS servers from clogging up the iOS device.

    1. 6.3.1.0

    2. Yes we are restricting via AP Group. The ap groups are devided up by schools.

    Example AP Groups: (School1) (School2)

CPPM regestration is turned on when we test.

When Registration on: We see a few radom Apple TVs from various ap groups ( schools).

When Registration off: We can see all Apple TVs at ever school.
