    Hi!

I´m seeing some logging in my arubaos switches:

00469 ssl: AM1: User :TLS connection failed for WEB-UI
session from x.x.x.x due to cipher mismatch

    Models: 2530,2920 and 5400r.

We´re running 802.1x / mac-auth / profiling with captive portal with clearpass 6.7.3. The captive portal is http with a landing page containing https links.

What does this error imply ?

could this be a failed login attempt to the web interface of the switch itself?

Did you find the solution? Got the same problem.

This is due to a port having a Guest-Redirect role applied. When a connected device attempts to go to an HTTPS site, this is when the error occurs on the switch. Only HTTP traffic is re-directed to Guest Captive Portal.

Normally when a Win10 device connects, the Captive Portal check functionality of the OS uses HTTP and not HTTPS and the Captive Portal pops without issue.
