I am making an assumption that you cannot upgrade the eval VM images.

Was running 6.02 and attempted to go to 6.1

    Installing CPPM-x86_64-6.1.0.50820-upgrade.bin ...
    Upgrading from image file=CPPM-x86_64-6.1.0.50820-upgrade.bin
    Extracting image...
ERROR: Upgrade not supported on this VM image
ERROR - Exception performing upgrade: VM upgrade failed
    ERROR - Upgrade failed

Can anyone confirm?   I have no issue redownloading 6.1 eval vm and exporting/importing configuration.

Correct.. But moving forward as of 6.1 you will be able to upgrade the Eval versions.

I read that the Evaluation Version of ClearPass is not supported within a Production Environment. How true is this?

Can I not decide to integrate the Evalutaion Version to work with our Active Directory or Production Mobility Controller for testing purposes?

What scenarios I'm I limited to on the Evaluation Version?

    Correct!!!!

The eval version is a small OVF with only 2 cores/4 gb of ram and the small amount of HD space you put in the VM when you set it up. Its is made just for testing..

    BUT....

All you have to do when you are done testing is run a backup of the eval, certificate trusts, and the CPPM cert on the policy manger side and restore to the production VM or appliance.

Make sure you checkmark ignore version mismatch when you do the restore.

    Thanks Tarnoid.

So all testing that I have to do is within the Evaluation CPPM?

Cannot integrate it to a Lab Mobility Controller to expand my testing?

You can integrate it with your production environment but just remember it has limited resources in the VM.

If you hit the eval VM with a lot of authentications and or OnBoard clients at the same time you might run into poor performance.

Very good! It would have been weird that I wouldn't be able to integrate to the Production environment or at least a Mobility Controller within the Lab.

Yeah. I understand that it has very limited resources. So we will be sure not to overload the Evaluation CPPM.

    Thanks for your responses.
