Closing the curtain on HIMSS 2017
The final act has concluded and HIMSS 2017 has come to an end. Another successful event where over 40,000 attendees gathered to hear the latest and greatest on the new innovations for the healthcare industry. It’s a bittersweet ending as we prep all year to bring the best information to healthcare leaders and – poof - it’s done in the span of 4 days. But those 4 days were packed! Following are some highlights.
A packed house: Our 20+ theater sessions with topics from IoT, security, patient experience, mobility and more were standing room only. Speakers from HPE, Aruba, ISV, and channel partners – BridgeHead Software, Cerner, CloudWave, Comport Healthcare Solutions, CompuCom, Fuji, GE Healthcare, Logicalis, OST, Philips, Quest Diagnostics, VenueNext and VertitechIT. A strong lineup of experience across the industry provided insight from many perspectives.
Demo spotlights: The hottest topics in the demo area driving engagement were led by our Aruba team including Wayfinding, ClearPass and ArubaOS 8. As expected, our IoT team had given hundreds of demos. Attendees crowded around our impressive Micro Datacenter to see how one puts an entire data center on wheels.
Charity catches attention: Our charity cube, where attendees tried to catch as much money for charity as possible, was a hit! We raised $10,373 dollars for our three charities - Kiva, Doctors Without Borders and the Ronald McDonald House. Thanks to all who participated! We hope you had fun for a good cause.
Hearing from peers: Advocate Healthcare’s Gary Horn spoke in a conference session titled Redesigning the Wireless Network for Mobility and IoT. The topic was well attended, and we had a constant stream of visitors to our booth referencing his implementation of Aruba solutions for IoT security.
The benefit in bringing all this to you is to show how HPE can help accelerate wellness by empowering digital health.
