I am a new Network Administrator and the Enviornment I was brought into is almost completely Aruba equipment. All of my training to this point has been on Cisco so I am trying to get a grasp for the new devices I will be using. This includes  7200 and 3200 Controllers, Mobility Switches, ClearPass and Airwave.  I've searched around the community a little bit and haven't found much that pointed to self paced study.

I will be attending the Air Heads conference this year, so I am sure I will learn a lot there, but I have some immediate need for knowledge and I would rather not show up to a conference knowing very little about the subject of the Conference.

I know that Aruba offers training in person and some elearning, but I'm looking for something to get me a decent foundation. Any Video learning, Books, or even Blogs that are recommended would be very much appreciated. This way I can figure out where I need the most training and I'm not wasting my Employer's time and money.

First place to look is the validated reference designs.

Start with the campus VRD and the lab design

If you have access to the support website, grab a copy of the AOS 6.3 user guide.

    I think that's a good start.

I have already begun reading the manual. The VRDs are a good help too though. I'm not necesarily looking to design a new network right now, but any little bit that shows real world application helps.

The other thought I had that I forgot to include in my original question. Is there any sort of emulator for Aruba equipment so that I can create a virtual lab? Similar to Packet Tracer or GNS3?

Unfortunately no emulator, I believe one member here has a made a feature request for it. (nightshade1)

If you don't have any equipment, you can sign up for SEEL labs which allows you to access remote equipment and play with configurations and such. Speak to your channel manager about it or SE.

Do you have a partner account? If so, try accessing Aruba's Solution Exchange, some real world configuration examples.

Best bet currently is reading through the community and those VRDs (they do have configuration examples).

While I do have equipment. It is in production. So I don't feel comfortable making any changes yet. I am comparing what I see veruses what I read, but the person who actually installed it all left the company months before I started.

    Also, No Partner Account.

I'll have to look into the SEEL labs. That sounds like a great idea!

    Thanks for your Assistance.

Another thing that I didn't find right away, but in case anyone is reading this looking for materials as well. There is actually a Knowledge Base as part of the Aruba Networks Community. In there, there is also videos, and I am actually viewing some from the previous AirHeads Conference.

Currently we have self-paced learning for Instant, Central, and ClearPass.  Controllers are coming later this year.

Instant and central are free and posted on the cloud.arubanetworks.com site.

ClearPass Essentials is on the LMS, accesible from the Access Mgmt section here: http://www.arubanetworks.com/resources/training/

    CP-E is ~12 hours of self-paced e-learning and a 20-hour virtual instructor-led lab session for $2,100.

Whether Sales Specialist and 802.11ac Specialist Certification Courses are also free to Partners?

    Hello All,

I am know I am extremely late to the game here, however we are expanding our technical integration efforts here at GNS3 and would love for the opporutnity to work with Aruba to provide a test environment for users to trail your appliances in our emulator.

Attached is a link of the technical integrations we have done to date: https://community.gns3.com/docs/DOC-2042

Would love to chat if there is any interest in the Airheads Community?
