    Hi,

im looking for some infomation on where to get started and become certified please?

the company i work for are looking into sending me on the ACMP boot camp in August but do i have to be ACMA certified first?

where is the best place to get study aids for the ACMA and ACMP exam?

a bit about me: I come from an installation engineer background and have done since leaving school around 11 years ago, but obviously dont want to be doing that for the rest of my life. i moved to a new company 4 years ago who specialise in WLAN technology and i was initally taken on as an installation engineer, but i now want to get away from that so im studying for my Cisco ICND1, but as the company i work for are both Cisco and Aruba certified i want to keep up and get some Aruba training too.

    regards

    adam.

You don't need your ACMA prior to taking the bootcamp or exam. From my experience attending the bootcamp is the best way to get started with your studies. Then, look over the study guide, determine which knowledge gaps you have, then read the user guide and VRDs to fill those gaps. Also, enough can't be said for getting real world experience or setting up a lab and configuring Aruba products.

Thank you for your response :D

do you not need to have a certain level of knowledge on the technical side of networking to go to the boot camp?

For the ACMA boot camp basic networking knowledge is needed. Once you move on to ACMP you'll need to know the basics of configuring an Aruba controller as they'll move into some heavier concepts. If you've been in a controller and know your way around you should be fine in the ACMP boot camp.
