The goal of this exercise is to examine the mechanism behind the generation of the tree needed for traffic routing in SDN network. The application should eliminate any traffic loops and reconstruct the tree in case of link or switch malfunction.

  • First, we start the network up and confirm host intervisibility.
  • Then, we turn some links or switches off/on and observe the application reconstructing the tree using OpenFlow protocol.
  • Next, blocking the unsolicited DHCP servers from accessing the SDN network
  • Finally, block network access for specific hosts using OpenFlow rules
