We are purchasing some 3810's for some new ToR switches. They list the D series DAC cables in the data sheet on the website. We have a bunch of B series DAC cables we would love to reuse. Mostly
J9281B 1m & J9283b 3m. Are they any issues I will run into using the older cables?

They will work without any issues in an 3810M switch.

Aruba 3810M currently supports (no matter the running ArubaOS-Switch software version [*]):

    • J9281B
    • J9281D
    • J9283B
    • J9283D
    • J9285B
    • J9285D

    Reference: ArubaOS-Switch and ArubaOS-CX Transceiver Guide (9th Edition) September 2020 (page 59/91).

Note 1: DAC Cables are for use in JL071A, JL072A, JL073A, Jl074A and JL076A when those switch models are equipped with the JL083A Aruba 3810M/2930M 4SFP+ MACsec Module.

Note 2: DAC Cables are for use in JL075A front SFP+ ports or are for use when the JL075A is equipped with the JL083A Aruba 3810M/2930M 4SFP+ MACsec Module.

[*] Always better to run latest software.
