Hi community

Let´s generate some controversy for this model just to have a clear view of some interesting concepts.
Datasheet points out these values ​​(by the way, it seems that in the QuickSpec there are different values ​​which might be erroneous):

 

  • Stacking performance: 100 Gbps
  • Switching capacity without stack: 320 Gbps
  • Switching capacity including stack: 420 Gbps
  • Throughput: 112 Mpps

The worst (most demanding) scenario about ports for this model is:

 

  • 24 x 5 Gbps downlinks
  • 04 x 10 Gbps uplinks
  • 02 x 25 Gbps stack

The switching capacity required for the uplink and dowlink ports would be 320 Gbps (in+out value) - Just add speeds in and out.
The switching capacirty required for the stack ports would be 100 Gbps (in+out value) - Just add speeds in and out.

If we make some calculations, the forwarding rate (throughput) for the worst port scenario should be at least:

without stack: 238 Mpps (160 Gbps x 1.488 Mpps per Gbps)
with stack: 312 Mpps (210 Gbps x 1.488 Mpps per Gbps)

Why throughput for this model is far below: 112 Mpps?
Would this mean that the 2930M is not a non-blocking device from the throughput perspective?
