Aruba 5412R zl2 Switches VSF & Aruba 3810M Stacked Switches

Will be setting up two HP/Aruba 5412R zl2 switches in a VSF core switch setup.
Will be stacking two HP/Aruba 3810M switches with stacking modules, stacking cables, and 10G fiber modules in each switch. Each 3810M switch will have a 10G fiber connection that will run back into the VSF setup. The commander 3810M switch's 10G fiber connection will connect to the VSF commander switch and the standby 3810M switch's 10G fiber connection will connect to the VSF standby switch.
From what I gathered, VSF is a active/passive (standby) setup. If the commander 3810M switch's 10G fiber connection (uplink to VSF commander switch) failed or if the switch completely failed, the standby 3810M switch will take over as the new commander but will it be able to establish connectivity to the VSF standby switch (passive) and continue switching/routing traffic?
Do I need to consider adding backup 10G fiber connections from the commander 3810M switch to the VSF standby switch and from the standby 3810M switch to the VSF commander switch?

The term commander/standby command or active/passive are only for the management plan. In each case (VSF or Stack), both switches will actively forward the traffic.
In the duagram you have shard, if all links are 10G, you will 20G port channel per switch stack and both links will be forwarding the traffic.
