    Hi guys,

I need to deploy an aggregated interconnection between an Aruba 6400 and an Aruba 8325 (02 100GE links aggregated).

Is it possible to use the Aruba 100G QSFP28 5m DAC cable (R0Z26A) to make this aggregation?. I cannot see this DAC cable among the cable options in the accesories section for an Aruba 6400.

What about using this DAC cable between 02 Aruba 6400 in order to virtualize them using VSX?, is it possible?

Thanks in advance for your support.

    Hi N3tw0rk3r,

The ArubaOS-Switch and ArubaOS-CX Transceiver Guide (Edition will help determine this.

It states that the R0Z26A is not supported by the 6400 unfortunately. There is a 3m QSFP28 to QSFP28 DAC (JL307A) available though that seems to be supported.

The 8325 supports the 1, 3 and 5 meter QSFP28 DAC's listed in the guide. Check the supporting OS versions.

    Hi Probe

Thanks for the input. The problem is that distance is greater than 3 meters. So, the cable you are mentioning cannot help me. I think my only alternative is to use 100GE transceivers and use the appropriate fiber optic.

    Regards

Yes, if greater than 3 meters is required and 100 Gb links are required fibre will be the best solution.

    The 6400 would do 5 meters @ 40Gb with the HPE X242 40G QSFP+ to QSFP+ 5m DAC Cable (JH236A).

    Yeap,

I know 40GE can be a solution, but the requirement is to use 100GE transceivers.

Thanks for your suggestions my friend.

Aruba 6400 side: if 100G should travel more than the permitted distance of the Aruba 100G QSFP28-QSFP28 3m DAC Cable (SKU: JL307A) - so >> 3 meters - then you're pretty much forced to use Aruba 100G QSFP28 MPO SR4 MMF Optical Transceiver (SKU: JL309A) into a Aruba 6400 12p 40G/100G QSFP28 Module (SKU: R0X45A).

    Aruba 8325: on this side QSFP28 SR3 Transceiver is exactly the same (It's a pity there isn't a one-to-one binding about supported DACs lengths on 6400 - 3 meters only - versus 8350 - 1 meter, 3 and 5 meters).
