Aruba 8320 48p per port 802.1X authentication

Hi all,

We are setting up a 8320 to provide 10G speeds to end users.

We use 802.1X on our network to authenticate our user stations however I have not been successful in finding anything in the documentation on how to enable 802.1X for this purpose on the 8320 switch.

We suspect that this may be due to the switch being meant to be a core switch and not a switch connected to end user stations.

But hoping to hear I am wrong and there is a way after all.

Thanks.

Tech details:

Switch: Aruba 8320 48p 1G/10GBASE-T and 6p 40G QSFP+

Authenticating end user ports using 802.1X against a radius server.

As you said, 8320 is positionned as agg/core so 802.1X is not supported on this model.

Is there a different model that provides 10G to terminals that does support 802.1X? We don't need 48 ports what we do like about this switch is the 40G uplink.

It's for the content creation peeps in our office, they work with 4K HDR content and saying they are unhappy with 1G would be the understatement of the century.

(Though their Macs may present a serious issue in getting them 10G anyhow)
