Hello,

We have multiple Aruba switchs that seems to use more and more memory every days. We're afraid that they will crash if the memory usage reach 100% so we reboot them but since they're used 24h/24h, the customer isnt very happy about it. Is there any fix ?

Hello, are you able to provide little bit more details (Switch models, Switch running software versions, sanitized configurations, rate of memory usage increase over time, actual memory usage seen with usual show CLI command, etc.)?

Of course, I am eager to provide any useful information needed. The switch is a 2930M running on the ROM WC.17.02.0006. It seems that only one switch in the stack has this issue. Its memory is :  

Memory - Total   : 339,526,144

                Free   : 32,901,976

As for the other informations needed, can you assist me and tell me how to fetch them ?

Have you check which process use memory

# show processes sort-by memory

if any issue tries to update to the latest stable firmware. do you have any NMS system monitor this switch? 

Hi! WC.17.02.0006 doesn't seem correct. Could you please verify again the software version (post the output of show flash and show version commends executed on your Aruba 2930M switch)?

Why do you believe the RAM used by your switch is "increasing" up to the point it will fill up? Is it an impression or have you seen a rate of increase?

As for the increase, I check it daily from a monitoring screen and just notice it's growing slowly. It could be an impression but I doubt it.

Try this. find output

1. switch # process-tracking

2. switch# task-monitor cpu

3. switch# show cpu process

I would first recommend upgrading the stack to the latest software release (WC.16.10.0010), and see if you observe the same behavior.

Beyond that, when you say only one member of the stack is seeing this behavior, which member is it — the stack Commander, Standby, or one of the others?

Some short questions:
1-Do you have any idea when the issue started? Software upgrade, new Networking Management Software  (NMS) deployed

2-Do all of your switches exhibit this increasing memory usage?

Could you attach a STA (Show Tech All) from an affected switch here please.

I didnt open a TAC case as since my account has been moved to the partner portal, I cannot connect anymore. I have an HPE ticket tho, does that count ? It's the 5350348534.

As for your questions, we dont know since when the problem occur since when we start monitoring, the issue was still there.

Many switchs exhibit this issue but not all of them.
