Copper SFP to Cisco 2960 Configuration

Ive got a strange fault between a 3810M SFP switch with a J8177D Copper SFP connecting to a Cisco 2960X switch, configure everything on both sides of the link and the HPE can see the Cisco switch (CDP and LLDP) but the Cisco is unable to see anything and no user traffic passes.

I have a JL074A 3810M 48 port copper switch and with the identical configuration on the port it works fine.

Has anyone seen or had a similar situation where the SFP port behaves strangly?

Re: Copper SFP to Cisco 2960 Configuration

Hi,

It is possible to have the configuration ? Both side have the same speed? 1gb ?

please do the command on the aruba switch #Show tech transceiver and #show running config interface X (the interface of where the transceiver is connected)

if possible doing to the same commands on the cisco switch ( commands may be different)

switch trunk all vlan 1,600,800,xxxx

Steps

We have tried fixing the interface speed and duplex and also setting it to auto neither made any difference.

We have the exact same configurations applied to the native copper interface and it works fine so its something to do with the copper SFP and its interaction with the Cisco
