DSCP QoS Markings

Hi all,

I have a fleet of 5400 series switches ... I was looking at honouring DSCP markings for QoS reasons at these switches out to our WAN.

How can I honour DSCP markings and ensure certain ones take precedence over the rest of the traffic?

I will have a simple QoS policy as our WAN only honours 3 different DSCP values

Re: DSCP QoS Markings

Thanks - worked nicely

(ArubaS3500) (config) #interface gigabitethernet 0/0/21
(ArubaS3500) (gigabitethernet "0/0/21") #qos trust <auto | dot1p | dscp | none>

Re: DSCP QoS Markings

Is it enough to configure the following command?

qos type-of-service diff-services

Is it still required to trust DSCP per port to apply DSCP-MAP?

Re: DSCP QoS Markings

Yes, the global command enables the DSCP trust ... then setting trust at each interface level ensures the trust is honoured.

I usually just enter the command on all interfaces in one go ... ‘interface A1-f24’ etc etc then apply the command
