HP 10500 - Different module medias within the same BAG

    Hello all

     

    Can anyone assist with the following.

     

    we have a pair of HP 10500 switches as our Core.

    Connect via 4 x 10Gb Fibre modules.

     

    Is it possible to have multiple media types within a BAG.

    So for example at the moment our FWs are connected to each Core switch with HA between them

    FW1 to Core 1

    FW2 to Core 2

    Obviously that means if we lose a Core switch then we also lose a FW.

    SO what we would like is to cross connect the FWs

    FW1 - Core 1 and Core 2

    FW2 - Core 2 and Core 1

     

    However this would involve a mix of using existing DACS up links for connecting the FW and COREs in the same racks IE FW1 to Core1

     

    But then we would need fibre for the connection from FW1 to CORE2

     

    So this would mean having DACS and FIBRE modules in the same BAG?

     

    Is this possible?

    Hi,

     

    it is possible, you only don't mix speed (1G/10GB/40Gb) on the same BAG

    FW1 - 10Gb DACS to CORE 1

    FW1 - 10Gb Fibre to CORE 2

     

    FW2 - 10Gb DACS to CORE 2

    FW2 - 10Gb Fibre to CORE 1

     

    That shoudl work?
